This character was originally created for the Holomatter Project: see Original art.
As the name of the project says, this human is actually just an artificial construct, used by a Transformer in order to effetively disguise the alt mode on Earth.

As Holomatter is a concept created by Simon Furman for his -Ation series, and since SoD is continuity with those books, we HAD to advertise this fanproject.
To make this "partnership" even more effective, RICKO is also a real human, in the SoD-universe: this means that he will be involved in the Transformers business on Earth and, possibly, will become an Headmaster (otherwise why feature him in the -Ation folder?!?). But then, WHO will be his robotic counterpart?
Only time will tell!
